The Trans Nzoia County Government has promised to develop synergies with various stakeholders aimed at improving the health sector and service delivery to area residents.
Area Governor George Natembeya made the remarks at his office in Kitale town, when he hosted a delegation from the International Network of Affiliate Ministries (INAM).
INAM’s Presiding Prelate Archbishop Earl L. Warren led the team from Illinois in the United States of America (USA).
While appreciating development partnerships between the government and private sector, Natembeya underscored the role played by local and international stakeholders in various development sectors, not only in Trans Nzoia County, but also in the country at large.
The County boss urged interested stakeholders to join his administration and help spur economic growth and development in the agricultural county.
“As a County, we are open and ready to create partnerships with stakeholders in all sectors to enhance service delivery and thereby improve sources of livelihood and living standards to our people,” Natembeya assured the meeting.
Archbishop Warren announced 50 million US Dollars donation by the organization towards improvement of healthcare services at Kitale’s Legacy Health Centre in Hospital Ward.
Warren pledged his organisation’s continued support, especially in infrastructure development and pharmaceuticals to enable Legacy Health Centre acquire national as well as international status.
“We will ensure continued donations of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceuticals to various hospitals in Trans Nzoia County,” pledged Warren, who promised to reach out to the Governor of Illinois in a bid to strike a working partnership between Illinois State with the devolved unit.
Natembeya applauded INAM’s gesture and appealed to other interested well-wishers to come on board.
“We are indeed grateful for the kind gesture by Bishop Warren and the team and more so for your commitment to closely work with my government towards enhancing our healthcare sector,” the governor remarked.
