National government will provide monthly food ration to all children’s homes in Isiolo County as drought continues to hit the region.
Isiolo County Commissioner Mr. John Ondego cited orphanages as institutions that deserve relief food since the support they get from well-wishers was not adequate.
Mr. Ondego was addressing children, parents and staff of Victor’s Children Rescue Centre in Burat location.
He thanked well-wishers who gave out food and clothing to the children at the orphanage and appealed to the institution’s administration to prioritize education for beneficiaries of the children’s home.
The county boss also appealed to well-wishers to assist them by paying secondary school fees for the needy children.
He further said that the government through presidential bursary under Ministry of Labour and Social Protection should focus on such students who have no benefactors to educate them.
Ondego challenged the 27 secondary students from victor’s rescue centre to change local community’s attitude by engaging in community work and to understand the community around them.
