Human Resource Officers in Homa Bay County have been send on compulsory leave to give room for an audit and investigation exercise on human resource and payroll systems.
The move which was made on Thursday was driven by complaints from the public on allegations of irregularities and lack of ethical values concerning recruitment in the county government.
In a press release, it was indicated that the HR officials are subjected to the compulsory leave following Gladys Wanga’s commitment to good governance, transparency and accountability devoid of corruption.
The affected county officers include; Lameck Ogot who is the Director of Recruitment and Selection, Boaz Nyagute Ag. Administrator CPSB, Linet Oguda who is the secretary to the CEO CPSB and the Director Human Resource Management, Charles Auma Modi.
Others are, Solomon Ochogo, the Ag. Payroll Officer, Alfred Okumu Chuchu who is the Ag. Director HR, the Human Resource Officer Dancun Akecha and Winfred Otieno Awuor, Director ECD in the Department of Education and ICT.
The mentioned officers have been ordered not to access their offices or any county government records. They are also barred from undertaking any financial transactions on behalf of the county government.
Through the press release, Governor Wanga urged residents to support her reform initiatives in order to get the county back on track.
She said this would help in achieving the desired level of service delivery to the residents of Homa Bay.
Wanga added that there would no longer be cases of county government jobs being sold to the residents but only qualified personnel would be hired for the available jobs.
