A family in Misista village, Kisii South Sub-county in Kisii County is in shock after losing their daughter in the ill-fated Ethiopian plane which clashed recently.
The family said the daughter was headed home after completing her doctor of philosophy degree from Viena, Austria.
Ann Mogoi was among the 32 Kenyans who perished during the incident which occurred minutes after the plane had taken off from the Ethiopian airport.
A close relative, Mzee Simeon Nyanga’te said he received the sad news when the authorities rung to inform them of the tragedy.
The Area MCA, Vincent Moisabi condoled with the family but petitioned the Kenyan government to sustain communication with the family with a view to explaining how it intended to assist with the funeral expenses.
The government is currently engaging Ethiopia concerning ferrying of the bodies for identification and burial by their families as condolences continue to flow in from the region and beyond.
