Josephine Naisula Lesuuda has recaptured the Samburu West Member of National Assembly seat and secured a second term.
The former KBC news anchor secured her second term on a KANU ticket after garnering 15,855 leading her closest male opponent by 7,004 votes.
The MP was competing against four male contestants including former Samburu Water and Sanitation company Managing Director Mark Lcharuni Lenolkulal, Elly Loldepe, Peter Lolmodoni and Raphael Lenaiyara.
Loldepe came second with 7,004 votes while Lenaiyara garnered 3,672, Lolmodoni polled 3,638 votes and Lenolkulal came fifth with 1,307 votes.
Addressing the press after being declared the winner, Lesuuda said she will continue working for the people at the same time calling for peace amongst the people of Samburu West.
“I have been elected by the people of Samburu West and that is the spirit of democracy and I pledge to uphold that spirit,” said the MP elect.
