Kaiti Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) Joshua Kimilu has retained his seat with 21,175 votes, the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has declared.
The Wiper party MP elect was followed by the UDA party, Teresia Mbaika (9,057) and Joseph Kioko (3,908) votes.
Other candidates who were in the race include; Anthony Mangeli (2,479), Patrick Mbevi (1,783), Gedion Ndambuki (740), Katemi Makenga (1,697), Sila Kaloki with 611 votes.
Kaiti constituency Returning Officer Vincent Saitabau declared the results on Wednesday night at Mukuyuni Divisional headquarters hall. He said the constituency has 65,188 and a turnout of 42,003 voters.
“I am grateful for the people of Kaiti for trusting me again to serve them,” said Kimilu.
The MP elect added, he will ensure more people are connected to electricity and fair distribution of education bursaries.
