Josses Lelmengit wins Emgwen MP seat

Josses Lelmengit of UDA has won the Member of National Assembly (MP) seat for Emgwen Constituency after garnering 34,803 votes.

Lelmengit, a first term legislature beat his closest competitor Dr. Tecla Tum who got 13,194 votes and was vying as an independent candidate.

The returning officer Veronica Keben said the constituency has 48,676 numbers of registered voters.

Speaking at St. Peters Catholic hall after emerging the winner, Lelmengit thanked the electorate for voting him in and promised to deliver on his manifesto.

The youthful MP said many youths have suffered for long in the Country due to lack of employment adding that his administration will ensure more meaningful projects meant for the youths are initiated so that they can uplift their living standards.

“I want to thank locals for maintaining calmness during this entire process and believing in my manifesto. I promise not to let you down. I will work around the clock to ensure I transform this constituency,” he said.
