IEBC official urges election stakeholders to be patient

Nyaribari Chache Constituency Returning Officer, Mark Manco has urged members of the public to exercise patience even as they continue to receive results and verify the forms from all the 183 polling stations in the constituency.

Speaking to KNA at the Constituency tallying centre in Kisii School, Manco said that as at 9.30am, the results were still streaming in smoothly and only 6 stations out of the 183 polling stations had not transmitted the presidential results.

“So far, we have cleared 19 polling stations including Kisii Main Prison and the Women’s Prison,” he added.

Manco noted the queues for receiving the ballot boxes for verification is long because once the Presiding Officers transmit the results, they have to also walk into the tallying centre with the forms for verification.

The RO said the team is committed to ensuring they deliver a free and fair election and added they hope to complete tallying as early as possible.

He added they are sharing the forms with the party agents to confirm the results so that the process remains very transparent for all stakeholders.

Nyaribari Chache has a total of 88,700 registered voters in six wards including Kisii Central, Birongo, Keumbu, Bobaracho, Ibeno and Kiogoro.
