The Magarini Sub County deputy County Commissioner (DCC), Simon Lokorio has cautioned teachers against engaging in sexual relationships with school girls.
Lokorio said the Sub County security committee will arrest and prosecute teachers found in such relationships, because the habit is undermining the education of the girls in the schools in the area.
Addressing a gathering at Marafa location on Monday, Lokorio called chiefs and their Assistants to monitor teachers in their locations and report such incidents to the police so that such culprits could be arrested and charged immediately.
The DCC said such relationships sometimes go unreported because parents of the girls settle the matter out of court, which is against the law.
He warned, “From today no such case should be settled by village elders but reported to police so that justice for the school girls could be achieved”.
