Bandari Silence Sofapaka

Mabel Keya – Narok, Monday February 5, 2017 KNA

Visiting Bandari FC from Mombasa humbled Sofapaka FC 3-0 in their Narok home ground stadium last evening.

The visitors took no chances right from the beginning of the game, which saw striker Antony Wambani score from the edge of 18 yard in the 10th minute of the first half with a low shot past Sofapaka’s goalkeeper.

Sofapaka Coach Sammy Ssimbwa address the press at Narok stadium after his team was beaten 3-0 by Bandari FC  Sunday.

Wambani was on the mark again on seven minutes later with a right foot tap in from a hard cross from the right wing to end the match 2-0 at first half.

In the second half, David King’atwa added his name on the sheet in the 53rd minute of the second half when he scored the third goal after a blunder by Sofapaka’s goalkeeper who failed to handle a hard shot.

After the game Bandari coach Ken Odhiambo described the win as an honour to the late Ken Achayo, a former player in his team who passed on recently, adding that it was good in preparation for the season although many chances were lost.

Sammy Ssimbwa the Sofapaka coach conceded defeat but was optimistic that his boys will pick up in spite of the loss.

He added that six of the chances created would have made a difference but luck was not on his side especially for his offensive strikers.
