Identical twins join the same national school

A set of identical twins that sat their KCPE exams at Bungoma DEB primary school in Bungoma County have been selected to the same National School.

The two who scored different marks have won form one slots at Kabianga Boys High school.

Simiyu Mukwana Collins who was index 4 scored 310 marks in the KCPE exams while his brother Simiyu Mulongo Joseph scooped 397 marks.

The twins desired to join different high schools but they say they are happy to be given another chance to learn in the same institution.

Mukhwana said that he had picked Kapsabet Boys as his top school of choice but was shocked to be called to the same school with his twin brother.

“I was really overwhelmed because this is like a miracle. We had chosen different schools but seemingly God had different plans. I am happy that I will get to experience high school life with my twin brother,” he said.

Mukhwana has a dream of joining Harvard University and pursuing Architectural Engineering, whereas Mulongo on the other hand had dreamed of joining Oxford University and pursuing medicine.

He says it will be an amazing experience to get to compete with his twin in the same high school.

“This is a unique occurrence and we are grateful that God has given us a chance to look out for each other in High school,” said Mulongo.

The twins’ father, Chrispinus Sakwa, narrated that he has another set of twins sitting for KCPE again in December at the same school and he hopes for good results next year.

However, he is seeking assistance from well-wishers and Banks to offer his boys scholarships to enable them to go to school.

“It is a blessing for me and my wife to see our twins perform this good and be called to a National school. We are happy that they have been selected to join the same school because it has reduced transport costs for us during visiting days or academic days. It is hectic to have two sets of twins joining high school and another sitting for KCPE in December,” said Sakwa.

Form one students are expected to join on May 3, 2022.
