While speaking to KNA, Loitoktok Sub County Director of Education Peter Bitah cited effects of Covid-19 pandemic as the main cause of the students missing their exams.

Bitah said some students never came back after schools were resumed after the long closure due to Covid-19 pandemic.

The director also mentioned poverty and drought as other causes the students missed the exams.

He also noted that there were 11 private candidates who registered for KCSE, however eight did the exam while three missed it.

However, the director said that for the first time no candidate did exam in hospital or police cells.

On challenges they experienced Bitah pointed out transportation of exam in some areas were affected by rains that made some roads almost impassable thereby causing delays.

Bitah has applauded the candidates for a successful completion of Secondary education as they await marking of the exams.
