At least 22,755 candidates in Migori County will be sitting for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Speaking during the distribution of exams to centre managers in Suna East Sub County, the Migori County Commissioner, Mr Mwangi Meru, said 12 containers are located in the ten sub counties to ensure safety and promptness in terms of exam distribution.
Meru said 12,158 boys and 10,597 girls that will be sitting for this year’s exams in the county in 299 centres asked those charged with managing the exams to be vigilant.
He said that his security team and education officials will be moving around the county to monitor how the exams progress.
The administrator said that the county has beefed up security to ensure that they deliver credible KCSE exams.
Mr Meru also said that so far the county does not have any special cases of students in need of attention and said that in case that happens, arrangements will be made to cater for any arising situations.
Migori County Director of Education Jacob Onyiego, cautioned the security, supervisors and invigilators personnel not to enter exam rooms with mobile phones.
“All the personnel involved in the exam process should leave their mobile phones in the staffroom. No one will be allowed to enter with their phones in the exam room”, stated Onyiego.
Migori County Teacher’s Service Commission Director, Ms Margaret Nyambura, said that the centre manager should ensure disciple to allow for the smooth exam process. He said that the exam centres will be liable in case anything happens. He urged the centre managers to be vigilant and report any arising cases to their sub county directors of education.
