The chairperson of the national government’s affirmative action fund, Regina Ndambuki has urged Kenyans to turn the grant from her office into catalyst to enable the country achieve its big four agenda.
Ndambuki said the government was committed to uplifting the standards of living of all Kenyans hence equitable share of resources across the board.
She was speaking at Ugunja town in Siaya County during the distribution of Sh10 million affirmative action cheques to various community based groups from the area yesterday.
Ndambuki urged Kenyans to exploit the existing peaceful co-existence brought about by the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader RailaOdinga to make strides in development.
“It is time for us as Kenyans to take a break from politics and focus on developing our nation,” she said.
Flanked by the Siaya women representative, Dr. Christine Ombaka, the chairperson said the realisation of the Big Four agenda starts at individual level hence the need for all to make a positive impact.
She called on the groups benefiting from the NGAAF to ensure prudent utilization of the funds so that they could positively change their members’ livelihoods.
Siaya women representative, Dr. Ombaka said the fund had enabled several groups to initiate income generating activities.
Ombaka called on those yet to join organised groups to do so in order to benefit from government programmes.
The occasion was also addressed by Siaya deputy speaker, Oduor Odongo and a host of members of the county assembly.
