Turkana County government Plans to construct Enforcement Training institute in Lokitaung, Turkana North which will be a hub for enforcement training.
Speaking during the graduation of 20 County Law Enforcement Officers who received certificates after undergoing law enforcement training, Public Service, Administration and Disaster Management, County Executive Committee member Charles Lokioto said the county was best suited for the training.
The training entails a legal framework for enhancing county laws and regulations, the role of enforcement officers in disaster risk management such as Fire Safety, Discipline and code of conduct among others.
The 20 Enforcement Officers were equipped with skills and knowledge on law enforcement.
The training is an initiative of the Kenya Devolution Support Programme (KDSP) to enhance the capacity and equip the officers with relevant skills in discharging their mandate.
The CEC underscored the importance of the training urging the officers to effectively use the acquired skills in discharging their mandates.
“You are now equipped with the necessary skills, there is no reason why you cannot discharge your mandate professionally,” said Lokioto.
Administration and Disaster Management Chief Officer Esther Ikaru challenged the officers to embrace professionalism.
Enforcement Director Julius Lokaale, his Administration counterpart Alexander Losikiria, Deputy Directors Enforcement and Inspectorate Chris Losuru, Peter Akono and Assistant Director Inspectorate Rael Akila, Principal Security Officer Mark Ekuwom were present.
