Woman calls for help to clear late daughter’s medical bill

A 27-year-old woman is calling on well-wishers to help clear her deceased daughter’s medical bill which has accumulated to Sh190, 519.30.

Ms. Margaret Mueni, now a mother of two who does casual work at Olokirikirai area in Narok North sub county said her one-year-old daughter’s body has been lying at the Moi Teaching Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary since her demise one week ago.

The young single mother who lives with her elderly mother said her baby Anjela succumbed to kidney cancer after two months of receiving treatment.

She was rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital after her grandmother discovered a hard swollen area on her waist.

The baby was later transferred to Moi Teaching Referral Hospital where she later passed on while undergoing treatment.

“I fear the mortuary bill will keep increasing yet I don’t know how I will clear the medical bill,” said the overwhelmed mother adding that she wishes to bury her child soon.

She told KNA that she earns around Sh200 per day which she uses for food and to pay school fees for her two boys, aged six years and four years.

“I am honestly left without an alternative means of getting money,” she reiterated, adding that she wished to give her daughter a decent send off.

Well-wishers can reach Ms. Mueni through her cell phone number: 0797821379.
