Farmers in Nyaribari Chache are set to benefit from ongoing infrastructural development after the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA) commissioned the construction of a 26km road network in the region.
The farmers expressed optimism that the Nyabisabo – Amariba Road which is designed to pass through Nyaguta, Riariga, Gesere, Mosasa and Getungurumu areas at a cost of Sh1.2 billion would ease movement of their produce to ready markets in the area.
Commissioning the road at Nyaguta location in the constituency over the weekend, Permanent Secretary for Infrastructure, Prof Paul Maringa, said the move would open up economic development in the area.
Prof Maringa noted that once the road is completed, transportation of agricultural produce including tea and milk to markets would be enhanced.
He applauded President Uhuru Kenyatta for approving the construction saying it would lead to achievement of the Big 4 agenda.
The PS was accompanied by Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Chris Obure.
Area Member of Parliament, Richard Tong’i, termed the move a perfect gift for the constituency.
