The Department of Registration of Persons has started mobile issuance of Identification Cards in Mwala Sub County.
Sub county Registrar of Persons Alice Njenga said the exercise that kicked off yesterday will be conducted across 19 centres including chief offices and some markets. Njenga said the exercise will end on October 31.
Speaking to KNA when she launched the exercise in Mwala, the registrar of persons said the issuance which will run concurrently with mass voter registration is part of the preparations for the forthcoming general elections.
She said the exercise targets young people and those with second generation ID cards. She called on residents to turn out in large numbers for the exercise.
“We are calling on those eligible to take advantage of the exercise and register for IDs,” she said.
