Taita-Taveta County Assembly has been plunged into mourning following the death of an MCA, Mr. Ronald Sagurani on Tuesday night while undergoing treatment at Pandya hospital in Mombasa.

Mr. Sagurani, who was the Minority Leader and the Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Mahoo ward, is the fourth MCA to have died in the county in the last three years.

Sagurani was serving a second term under Jubilee Party ticket and reports indicate he was admitted to hospital on 30th, July after suffering an undisclosed ailment.

A statement from the County Assembly termed him as a selfless leader with outstanding character while Taita-Taveta Governor Granton Samboja eulogized him as a leader whose dedication had enabled the county to offer quality services and development. “He was a leader who served his people diligently,” said the governor.
