Gov’t supports serial killer victims’ families

The two families whose children were abducted and murdered in Nairobi County by a suspected serial killer today received a total of Sh148, 000 from County Commissioners countrywide.

Handing over the money to the two families on behalf of the Kiambu County Commissioner Wilson Wanyanga who is the Chairman of the fundraiser at her Nyayo House office, Nairobi County Commissioner Flora Mworoa said the Chairman had mobilized the County Commissioners’ to fundraise for the bereaved families to enable them give their children a befitting send off.

The two families who received Ksh74, 000 each had sought the help from well-wishers via the local media to assist them bury their children at their rural homes as they were facing financial challenges.

Mworoa who sent a message of condolence to the bereaved families on behalf of her colleagues and the government said the government will ensure that whoever committed the crime face the full force of the law.

“The culprit has been arrested and this should send a stern warning to those who engage themselves in such criminal activities,” said the CC.

The suspected serial Killer Masten Milimo Wanjala was arrested by DCI detectives on Wednesday July 14 and is still assisting detectives with investigations.

She at the same time called upon parents to be very keen with their children and the people who associate with them, warning that people who abduct children are well known to them.

Jacinta Nduku, mother to  Junior Mutuku Musyoki  aged 12 and Grace Mueni, mother to  Charles Were Opindo aged 13 thanked the County Commissioners’ for their gesture and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for apprehending the suspect and finding the bodies of their loved ones in Kabete.

The Late Junior Mutuku Musyoki will be laid to rest at his parents’ home in Masinga, Sub County while Charles Were Opindo will be buried at Khwisero in Kakamega County.

The Kamukunji Sub County Deputy County Commissioner Samuel Kariuki, who commended the County Commissioners for their assistance said the two families who are residents of the Sub County will now be able to give their children a decent burial.

The two children who lived with their parents in Kitui Village, Majengo location in Kamukunji Sub County were abducted in Nairobi between 30th June to July 1st, 2021 by Wanjala, who was their football coach.
