The long awaited Siaya County Stadium which has been under construction for about two years now is almost complete.
County CEC in Charge of Roads, Public Works, Public Transport, Energy and Infrastructure, Jaoko Oburu reassured the residents of Siaya that the works will soon come to a fruitful end.
As one of the biggest infrastructural development projects in the County, the 20,000-seat capacity stadium located in Siaya town is being put up at a cost of Sh400 million, funded directly by the Siaya County government.
As the Stadium seeks to improve sport-tourism and generate much needed revenue for the County government of Siaya, the residents too have been eagerly awaiting the much-praised modern sporting facility.
The expected completion date is set for September 2021 and currently the boundary wall, ground works, terraces and podium are done leaving only filling the field, roofing of the podium, planting of grass and civil works at the parking areas.
