Foreign Affairs Chief Administrative Secretary Ababu Namwamba has urged political leaders in Busia County to cooperate with a view to develop the area.
Speaking at Ches beach in Bunyala Sub County over the weekend, Namwamba said no meaningful development could be achieved in the region without unity of purpose.
“A good leader works with his colleagues including MCAs, MPs and others,” he said, adding that he has achieved a lot for the county by working closely with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Namwamba lauded Governor Ojaamong for also working closely with President Kenyatta and the entire Executive adding that “I want to declare that I will work closely with leaders who are willing to work together and that’s why I support Ojaamong leadership,” he stated
Governor Ojaamong thanked Namwamba for connecting the county to the rest of the world by inviting all foreign ambassadors to visit the region.
He urged the local MPs to support the President with a view to attract more funds to the County.
The two leaders spoke in the company of the Indian High Commissioner to Kenya Dr. Paul Virander.
Dr. Virander promised that his country will support several projects in Busia County including cotton production.
