A total of 162 people have tested positive for the Corona virus disease, from a sample size of 3,452 tested in the last 24 hours and the positivity rate is now 4.7 per cent.
From the cases yesterday, 152 are Kenyans while 10 are foreigners. 116 are males and 46 females. The youngest is a 17-year-old while the oldest is 70 years.
In a statement, Health Cabinet Secretary (CS), Mutahi Kagwe, said this brings the total confirmed positive cases now to 170,647 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,809,890.
In terms of County distribution Nairobi has recorded 55 cases, Busia 32, Homa Bay 10, Kilifi 10, Mombasa 10, Kiambu 8, Kisii 5, Meru 4, Kisumu 3, Migori 3, Nakuru 3, Nyeri 3, Uasin Gishu 3, Kitui 2, Kwale 2, Machakos 2, Turkana 2, Makueni 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Kajiado 1 and Kirinyaga 1.
In terms of Sub- County distribution; the 55 cases in Nairobi are from Lang’ata (10), Dagoretti North and Kibra (5) cases each, Embakasi West, Makadara and Roysambu (4) cases each, Embakasi Central, Mathare and Ruaraka (3) cases each, Embakasi East, Embakasi North, Embakasi South, Kamukunji, Starehe and Westlands (2) cases, Dagoretti South and Kasarani (1) case each.
In Busia the 32 cases are from Teso North (21), Matayos (11). In Homa Bay the 10 cases are from Homa Bay Town (7), Karachuonyo (2), Rachuonyo South (1). In Kilifi the 10 cases are from Rabai (5), Kilifi North and Malindi (2) cases each, Magarini (1). In Mombasa the 10 cases are from Jomvu (4), Mvita (3), Nyali (2) and Kisauni (1).
In Kiambu the 8 cases are from Ruiru (5), Kikuyu (2), Kiambaa (1). In Kisii the 5 cases are from Kitutu Chache South (2), Bobasi, Bonchari and Nyaribari Chache (1) case each. In Meru the 4 cases are from Imenti North (2), Buuri and Imenti South (1) case each.
The 3 cases in Kisumu are from Kisumu East (2) and Kisumu Central (1), the 3 cases in Migori are all from Suna East, the 3 cases in Nakuru are all from Naivasha, the 3 cases in Nyeri are all from Nyeri Central and the 3 cases in Uasin Gishu are from Ainabkoi, Kapseret and kesses (1) case each.
The 2 cases in Kitui are from Kitui Central and Kitui West (1) case each, the 2 cases in Kwale are from Msambweni, the 2 cases in Machakos are from Matungulu and Kalama (1) case each and the 2 cases in Turkana are all from Turkana West.
The case in Makueni is from Kilome, the case in Tharaka Nithi is from Tharaka South, the case in Trans Nzoia is from Saboti, the case in Kajiado is from Kajiado North and the case in Kirinyaga is from Kirinyaga Central.
Distribution of new positive cases by age is as follows; 0-9 years (9), 10-19 years (9), 20-29 years (17), 30-39 (37) 40-49 (34) 50-59 (24) 60 years and above (32).
Kagwe said that 643 patients have also recovered from the disease, 406 from the Home Based and Isolation Care centres while 237 are from various health facilities countrywide.
“This now brings the total recoveries to 116,776 of whom 84,832 are from Home Based Care and Isolation, while 31,944 are from various health facilities”, he said.
Unfortunately, he explained that 16 people from reports of facility audit records conducted on diverse dates in April and May are reported to have succumbed to the disease and this now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 3,157.

Currently, Kagwe said, a total of 1,225 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,724 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care.
93 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 20 of whom are on ventilatory support and 56 on supplemental oxygen while 17 patients are on observation.
Another 85 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 79 of them in general wards and 6 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
