Residents of Tondo village, Tharaka Nithi County are mourning the death of one of their own after he was murdered while walking home from his business premise.
Confirming the sad incident, area Chief Stephen Nthiga said that Martin Githinji Nyaga’s body was found by passersby. He operated a butchery within Ishara village.
According to eyewitnesses the body that was later moved to Chuka hospital mortuary by police and had several stabs on the chest and head.
Chief Nthiga said the assailants did not steal anything from the victim, including his motorbike, an indication they were just out to kill him.
“I received the news of Githinji’s murder with great shock since he was a quiet man who I thought had no enemy in the village. Though he was brutally killed, nothing was stolen from him,” one of his relatives said.
The chief appealed to anyone with crucial information concerning the murder to forward it to security personnel to assist in investigations.
