Police Open Inquest into Mbooni Killing

Police in Mbooni East Sub-county have launched investigations into the killing of a middle aged man on Monday night at Syotuvale market.

The victim, David Makindu Mutua was found at around 9.30 pm lying in a pool of blood next to his vehicle Reg. No. KCV 967K with blood oozing from his nose and mouth.

Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan confirmed the incident saying the deceased, a resident of Kitoto Village in Kathulumbi location had earlier been seen drinking in the company of one Sylvester Ndaka Katiwa who is still at large.

Naipeyan said the deceased is suspected to have been clobbered with a blunt object on the head.  “A person who witnessed the incident, said the deceased was dragged outside the vehicle and was heard shouting that he was being killed,” he added.

The body was moved to Makueni County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting autopsy.
