Help At Last for Mother of Quadruplets

A team of senior officers from the Turkana  County Government  led by Director of Trade James Lokwale, gifted a basket of goodies to Arot Sugwar Achingole, the 44-year old mother of seven who gave birth to quadruplets last week.

 

Touched by the plight of the family, which comprises 21 dependants, a caucus of the County Directors mobilised contributions, both cash and in-kind support from well-wishers who responded positively in less than a week.

 

Among the items delivered to the lactating mother, whose babies are currently receiving  care at Lorugum Sub-County hospital, include formula milk (NAN), feeding bottles, nutritional porridge flour, tea leaves,90-kg of sugar, four 50-kg bags of maize, one 90-kg bag of beans and 20-litre jerrican of cooking oil.

Others are baby & mother packs with assorted clothes, lesos, woolen bed sheets, sleeping mats, a box of washing soap, four buckets of washing detergents and 2 D-light solar lanterns.

 

The team also donated eight she-goats and two Billy goats to the family in Kotela area of Kalemunyang’ in Lobei/Lotaruk ward.

 

NHIF Lodwar office offered to provide a one-year medical insurance cover to the family.

 

“We express our gratitude to all well wishers, including colleagues in the County and National Government  for their contributions for this good course ,” said Lokwale.

 

The team leader called for more support to cater to the needs of the babies and the nuclear family at home.

 

Other senior County Government officers in the team included James Nateleng’ (Director of Sports), Alice Akalapatan (Deputy Director of Family Health), Jackson Nakusa (Deputy Director of Sports), Titus Lokorikeju (Deputy Director of Heritage & Arts), Rael Arot (Asst. Director of Inspectorate Services), Peter Lomorukai (Loima Sub-County Medical Officer of Health), Rael Akoru (Senior Public Health Officer), David Edoket (Deputy Sub-County Administrator, Loima), Erastus Ekutan (Ward Administrator, Lobei/Kotaruk ward).
