Father in Court for Hacking Son to Death

A man was arraigned in Nanyuki court Wednesday over gruesome murder of his son in Mtaro village, Laikipia North sub county.

Wilson Mbotela appeared before Resident Magistrate Vincent Masivo for hacking Julius Nangini to death on Monday April 5.

Joseph Njiru, investigating officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Laikipia North pleaded with the court to grant him 14 days to complete the investigation.

“I am praying the honorable court to grant 14 days to enable me to complete the investigations done on ground that we need to have post mortem performed, conduct identification parade and record witness statements,” Njiru said.

He added the accused should continue to held in custody in Doldol police station.

“For interest of Justice I would wish the respondent to continue be detained at Doldol police station,” he said.

The case will be mentioned on April 21, 2021.
