Police arrest 7 suspected thieves with stolen cows

Kwale police have arrested seven suspected thieves and recovered nine cows that were stolen from Taita-Taveta County.
County Commissioner, Mr. Karuku Ngumo said the seven suspects are at Kinango police station where they are helping with investigations.
Mr. Ngumo said the first suspect Chiti Jeffa was arrested with the help of residents of Mazola area in Puma location and on being interrogated he mentioned his accomplices who were later nabbed in Kinango town.
He said the animals are suspected to have been stolen from Kasigau area in Taita-Taveta and that they are being detained at the police station awaiting identification by the owners.
The administrator said investigations have commenced and commended members of the public for being security conscious and assisting in the recovery of the livestock and the arrest of the suspects.
