Three people died on the spot after the vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck at Manyanga area near Kibwezi town along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.
Initial police reports indicate that the vehicle headed to Mombasa collided with the truck travelling to Nairobi before it rolled several times.
Confirming the 6am incident, Makueni County Police Commander, Joseph Ole Naipeyan, said the bodies of the three were moved to Makindu sub county hospital mortuary pending post mortem.
He said the vehicles were towed to Kibwezi police station.
The driver of the truck escaped unhurt.
