Likuyani Member of Parliament Dr. Enoch Kibunguchy has encouraged parents from the area to invest in the education of their children to give them a strong foundation for prosperity.
Addressing residents at Mabusi village in his constituency on Tuesday, he said education is the only inheritance children can obtain from parents in this time and age.
“Land has become scarce and parents should know that unlike in traditional times, nowadays education has remained the only worthy property a child can inherit from the parents,” he stated.
He pointed out that the national and county governments employ persons who meet academic qualifications for specific jobs.
The legislator, who has promised to prioritize education in his development agenda, faulted the government for delaying the disbursement of the National Government Constituencies Development (NG-CDF) for infrastructural development in schools.
“It is unfortunate that the children are going back to schools when they are still in the same state they were when they closed following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the country early last year,” he lamented.
He, however, urged parents to ensure all school going children report back to school following the re-opening.
