Two people have died in mysterious circumstances in separate incidents in Kwale County.
County Commissioner Karuku Ngumo said police recovered the bodies of the two men at Diani and Vigurungani locations, in Msambweni and Kinango Sub-county, respectively.
According to Mr. Ngumo, the first incident involved a 22-year-old man identified as Kevin Mutembei Naemba who was suspected to have drowned in the Indian Ocean.
“Police visited the scene where they found the body of the deceased lying at the Trade Wind beach on Sunday night,” he said adding that the man drowned 50 metres from the sea shore.
He said the body was taken to Msambweni Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
The second incident involved the suspected murder of an unknown man aged 30, in Ronjo village in Busa sub-location.
The deceased’s decomposing body had deep cuts on the head inflicted with a sharp object. The body was removed to Kinango Hospital mortuary for postmortem.
Mr. Ngumo said police have commenced investigations into the two incidents.
