has urged area residents to work with Nyumba Kumi members to curb insecurity during this festive season.
Njoka said terrorism remains a big threat to the country and every person should be at the forefront in tackling the vice.
The administrator who was speaking at Kerugoya Wednesday said had the Nyumba Kumi initiative been fully embraced, the country would have been spared the senseless killings emanating from terrorism attacks
He advised the area residents to be extra cautious especially over this Christmas season where many strangers move from one place to another.
“Ensure those living within your midst are genuine people and not bent on breaching the peace,” he said.
The county Commissioner however assured residents of the government’s commitment in maintaining security adding that police have been put on surveillance for 24 hours.
He urged members of public to volunteer information to the police and preempt crime even before it occurs.
Njoka however cautioned the members of the public against taking the law into their hands when dealing with suspected criminals but instead to report such cases to the security officers.
The administrator said the public should also work with the Nyumba Kumi in getting rid of those whom want to take advantage of the festive season to indulge in the production of illegal brews.
“I want to applaud the chiefs for the good work they have done in curbing the illicit brew across the county,” Njoka said.
He said though there were small sections still reported over the illegal practice, brewing of the makavo is almost contained.
“We want the members of the public to keep up the spirit and inform the police whenever they come across those who may be attempting to get in the brewing business,” he said.
