Ijara residents have a reason to smile as the government in conjunction with development partners revived the stalled water supply project for Masalani town.
Ijara MP Sophia Abdi Noor handed over the contract documents to the contractor and asked him to move with speed to ensure water supply is enhanced within Ijara sub county.
Sophia said Water, Irrigation and Sanitation Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki had earlier inspected the project which was halfway complete and hence handed over the project to the contractor to complete repairing the water project that has been supplying meagre water to the residents.
The legislator commended the government in conjunction with development partners for resolving to complete the water supply which residents were yearning for.
When completed, Masalani water supply will provide 2,000 cubic litres to residents within a 6-km square location in order for residents to get clean and safe water for domestic use.
The sub county water coordinator Sadam Garad commended the Ijara MP for her efforts to ensure residents get safe and clean water.
Mr Garad appealed to the residents to pay their water bills every month to avoid disconnection.
He at the same time congratulated the ministry and other development partners who made the dream true.
