A middle aged suspect cattle thief arrested in Bondo

A middle-aged man is being held at Bondo police station after he was arrested in connection with the rampant cases of cattle theft across the region.
David Omondi Haya who operates a butchery opposite Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology was arrested at his residence near the university after he was found in possession of two cows and a calf which had been reported stolen days ago.
According to Nyawita sub-location Assistant Chief Mr. Ayub Ogola, they were on regular patrols when they bumped onto the animals and tried to question the suspect who could not prove ownership.
Ogola said that in the process they made calls to some locals whose cattle had been stolen and they came and positively identified the animals.
The administrator revealed that a cow and its calf had been stolen in Nyamira village while the other had been stolen around Koyucho junction.
Ogola who confirmed the arrest, stated that investigations have already been launched into the matter and appealed to members of the public to continue giving them information that can help in arresting more suspects.
