Police in Narok North Sub County are investigating an incident where a middle-aged man was stabbed to death in unclear circumstances at Majengo estate, Narok town on Monday night.
Speaking to the media, the area Sub County Police Commandant Frederick Siundu said the incident happened in the wee hours of the night where unknown people broke into the deceased house and stabbed him on the chest, head and neck.
He said the victim’s cousin who happens to live nearby heard a commotion in the house and as he rushed to the scene met with a person who had covered his head and held a bloody knife as he escaped.
However, when he tried to follow the mysterious man, he noticed that there were several other men waiting outside and so he rushed back to his cousin’s house in fear only to meet him lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
The police boss said he rushed his cousin to Narok County Referral Hospital but he died while undergoing treatment. “We have launched investigations towards this mysterious incident. One wonders what made the man kill the other and did not steal anything in the house,” said Siundu.
He called on those with information that could lead to unveiling the mystery behind the death to inform the police to facilitate investigations. “Such incidents have been on the rise in Narok County where people kill innocent citizens before taking off without stealing anything,” lamented the police boss.
He asked residents to be wary of people living around them and especially those who do not return to their homes during the set curfew hours imposed to curb Covid-19.
