A Woman charged for stealing Sh1.6 Million from a bar patron

A woman was on Monday charged in a Mombasa Court for stupefying and stealing Sh1.6 million from a patron in a club in Mombasa.
Beatrice Mueni Mbiu was arraigned at Shanzu Law Courts by Mohamed Hasan where she is facing two counts of administering a stupefying drug to Richard Nyasamba Wanyonyi and later stole from him cash and a phone.
Mbiu who appeared before Resident Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda denied the charges and was released on a bond of Sh 3 million or alternative cash bail of Sh 1 million.
Mbiu is alleged to have administered a drug to Wanyonyi while they were hanging out at Drips Club in Nyali in Mombasa County on September 8, 2020.
The court was told the accused stole Sh.1.574, 212 from Wanyonyi’s NCBA bank account and his Huawei phone valued at Ksh.30, 000.
Police said they are in hot pursuit of two of Mbiu’s accomplices who are on the run.
