Equity Bank donates PPEs for public health facilities in Embu

Equity Bank, Embu Branch has donated personal protective equipment for Embu health care workers.
While handing over the equipment yesterday, Equity Bank Embu Branch Manager Ms. Teresiah Njoki, said this is the third time the bank is coming on board to facilitate the protection of healthcare workers in Embu public health facilities.
Ms. Njoki noted the bank has donated a combination of all PPEs required to facilitate protection of the healthcare workers which includes 10, 000 surgical masks, 2, 000 N 95 face masks, protective goggles, gum boots among others.
Ms. Njoki observed that the bank has been working closely and cordially with the county government of Embu in several sectors especially in the health sector.
She particularly said the bank has been working closely with the Embu County Liaison Commission which ensures the PPEs supplied in Embu are of high quality.
She expressed the importance of taking care of healthcare workers who are the frontline soldiers in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Ms. Njoki urged the residents to ensure they observe the health protocols laid down by the Ministry of Health not only for their own protection but also to ease the burden being borne by the healthcare workers.
While receiving the donations, Embu Health Chief Officer Grace Muriithi, appreciated the Equity Bank for the donations adding that they will be distributed to all the public health facilities soonest possible.
Ms. Muriithi noted that in Embu health facilities are not overwhelmed by an influx of corona cases since they are assessing those affected and most are self-isolated at their home.
However she has urged the national government to facilitate supply of reagents which would help in enabling testing and getting results at Embu Level five hospital.
Ms. Muriithi noted that currently they are taking samples to KEMRI for analysis and results where suspected cases wait longer before getting their results.
