Environment CS Keriako Tobiko has lashed out at Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen for demeaning him in his twitter account.
While admitting that he was indeed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ‘clerk’, Tobiko wondered why Murkomen was so vocal on issues that do not concern him.
“Yes I am a personal clerk for the president because he appointed me into office, I wonder what is wrong with that. I respect the president and will continue to do all the assignments that he has given me,” said the CS.
Speaking Friday at Endersegira area in Loita ward during an inspection tour of the expansive Loita forest, the CS said, “Murkomen has no manners, why does he go around insulting leaders including the president. The senator should respect the president or else he doesn’t deserve to be respected.”
The CS reactions follows a tweet by Senator Murkomen that referred to Tobiko as a mere clerk in the Jubilee government as he has never won any elective seat.
“You forget so fast that you became a CS because the President was trying to get rid of you from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP). You have no moral authority to lecture your boss the Deputy President even if he is being molested by his boss. First try to be MCA,” read the tweet.
The CS said he has never lectured Deputy President William Ruto, but only differed with him because of early campaigns that did not benefit Kenyans.
“Instead of Murkomen insulting me, he should advise his boss, who is the DP to respect the president and stop early campaigns. The DP is also a clerk of the president,” said Tobiko.
Earlier on, the CS toured the home of the famous Maasai Leader Mkombo Oloibooni who lives in the Loita forest.
