Grief and agony has filled Bondo Sub County following the mysterious death of Bondo Sub-County Police Commander, Anthony Wafula.
Wafula passed on last night at the Bondo Sub-county Hospital where he was rushed at around 11.00 pm.
According to a police report, the officer was rushed to the health facility after developing fever and breathing difficulty.
Wafula is said to have returned his children to Nairobi immediately after the partial lockdown that was imposed on the city was lifted and only came back a few days ago.
Since then, he is said to have been feeling unwell until Monday night when his condition deteriorated at around 11.00 pm when he was rushed to the hospital before he succumbed at around 1.00 am.
The Siaya County Police Commander, Francis Kooli has confirmed the death, noting that samples have already been collected from the late officer’s body and taken to the KEMRI lab in Kisumu for testing to ascertain the cause of his death.
The Bondo Sub-County Public Health team on Tuesday morning conducted fumigation in all offices at the police station. The late Wafula’s body is lying at the Bondo Sub-county Hospital Mortuary.
