It is reprieve for cancer patients in Mombasa and the Coast Region at large as the Comprehensive Cancer Centre construction nears completion.
The Ultra-modern facility project within the Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital compound that will offer Radiotherapy treatment is being undertaken by Mombasa County and the National governments.
Speaking on Saturday, the Mombasa Governor, Hassan Ali Joho said the centre is first of its kind in the region adding, “Very soon patients in coastal region requiring radiotherapy will not have to go to Nairobi to seek the treatment.”
“The facility will be a major boost to the existing Day Care Chemotherapy Centre,” observed the governor.
