The fight against Covid-19 intensified in Suba South

Suba South MP John Mbadi has launched the fight against the spread of coronavirus in the constituency by donating face masks, hand sanitizers and relief food to cushion vulnerable families in the area during this hard economic time caused by coronavirus pandemic.
The MP gave 3,000 face masks, 100 cartoons of 500-milliliter hand sanitizers and 84 bags of dry maize to supplement both the county and national government efforts in curbing the spread of coronavirus.
Speaking after handing over the materials to Suba South Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) Joseph Maina, Mbadi said that the sanitation materials target all the 35 beaches in the area, bodaboda sector and small scale traders in open-air markets in the entire constituency.
Mbadi added that fishermen in the area are at risk of contracting coronavirus hence the initiative will help in protecting the fishermen and other beach dwellers who were unable to afford the safety materials in fighting the virus.
The legislator further stated that the 84 bags of maize will be distributed from next week by the sub-county coronavirus emergency response committee to vulnerable families in all the locations within the Sub County.
At the same time, Mbadi challenged the DCC to ensure that only the vulnerable families receive the relief food saying he will verify the list to ensure that only the genuine ones benefit.
He further told the county government of Homa Bay to allocate another ambulance to the sub-county to help in the fight of coronavirus saying the ambulance which was previously allocated to the sub-county is grounded.
