Fourteen Quarantined for Flouting Curfew

Fourteen revelers have been placed in mandatory quarantine at the Nyandarua Boys High School after they were arrested flouting the curfew order.
The twelve men and two women, who will also foot the cost of the quarantine, were over the weekend rounded up from various places across Nyandarua Central Sub County while drinking past 7 pm.
County Commissioner Boaz Cherutich, while regretting that the residents had devised ways to beat the order, said that the revelers were compromising the efforts by administrators in fighting the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
“The county emergency response committee has directed that the individuals who were arrested last evening at 7.15pm at paradise bar in Kihoto area in Mirangine sub county be placed on quarantine for 14 days beginning today.

“This is to serve as an example to others flouting the government directive and also as a measure to control crowding of people and to stamp out illegal sale and drinking of beer by notorious individuals with impunity,” added Cherutich.
