Mandera Receives Coronavirus Equipment

Mandera County has received anti- coronavirus assorted equipment to help curb the spread of the pandemic.

The equipment were given by the ministry of health after 30 people were put in quarantine in the area.

The 30 were quarantined following contact tracing, after two people who travelled from Kilifi County to the region on April 2, tested positive of the covid -19 virus.

After the two tested positive contact tracing of passengers who travelled by the Makkah bus with the two from Nairobi to Mandera commenced.

However, despite the county’s efforts in fighting the disease, some 15 people who travelled with the two are still at large.

Mandera governor Ali Roba has promised the 15 will soon be apprehended and brought to quarantine facilities.

The consignment included infrared thermometre, surgical masks, oxygen concentrator, sanitizers, latex gloves, N95 face masks, a ventilator and sample collection kits.
