Police Implicate Missing Judicial Officer of Murders

Policy in Kirinyaga are pursuing a woman said to have hacked to death her husband and a daughter with an axe while the two were asleep and fled from the matrimonial home at Getuya village.
The woman said to be a senior judicial employee based at Karatina law Courts is alleged to have fled with keys of two family vehicles.
Police said the woman’s son Felix Njine discovered the lifeless bodies at about 3am Friday on entering the house and raised an alarm.
Njine said the bodies of father Charles Murimi, 49, and Valerie Njeri, 13, had their heads mangled by the intensity of the axe the suspect used to hack the two with.
He reported the matter to the police who visited the scene and removed the bodies to Mt. Kenya hospital mortuary where they were awaiting post mortem examination before disposal.
Murimi was a manager at a private milk outlet at Kagumo market while the daughter was a standard seven pupil in a private academy in the same area.
Police said they were yet to establish the motive of heinous crime and promised to continue hunting down for suspect until she is apprehended.
Locals claimed the family was always locked in serious domestic wrangles and this was suspected to have been the genesis of the brutal double murders.
They also claimed the suspect who was initially based at the Kerugoya law courts and later got transferred to Ngong law courts in Kajiado County had started to desert the husband which sparked off the domestic row.
They also suspected the woman, having been promoted to a position of an Executive Officer while the husband earned pea nuts might also have contributed to the disharmony.
She was also said to have shown signs of depression since last year while the husband was said to have turned into a serious drinking habit.
