Kenya Pipeline donates hand sanitisers to Nyandarua

Nyandarua County has received over 2, 500 litres of free hand sanitisers from the Kenya Pipeline Company to help curb spread of the Covid-19.
According to Nyandarua County Commissioner, Boaz Cherutich, the consignment packaged in 61 jerricans containing 20 litres each and 127 cartons, carrying two dozens of 500 milliliter bottles each will go a long way in mitigating shortage that has been experienced in the recent past.
He noted that the distribution exercise will be carried out by the Sub-county Emergency Response Committees who will make sure it benefit the county most vulnerable people.
“We shall ensure that the free hand sanitisers are distributed across the County through the help of the Sub-county Emergency Response Committees who will discuss on the rightful beneficiaries for issuance,” said Cherutich.
The Administrator added that the free hand sanitisers initiative was part of the government’s effort to curb the spread of the disease in the country.
“I am calling upon the County residents to obey all governments directives like hand washing, curfew and maintaining social distance as they were all geared towards keeping coronavirus at bay,” he added.
The County Health Director, Dr Martha Mwathi, noted that the free hand sanitizer’s consignment will go a long way in mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in the County.
She said that the some of the sanitisers will be distributed to health facilities, police stations, market centres, adding that to halt the spread of the coronavirus, everyone must change their behavior, irrespective of social status, avoiding crowds, staying home and washing hands.
