Police in Rachuonyo East Sub County have launched investigation into the death of a woman whose body was found floating in river Awach in Kodumo West Sub Location last Friday evening
The body of the deceased identified as Lydiah Adhiambo Omondi was found by villagers in the river at the boarder of Kodumo West and Kokwanyo location after going missing for two days.
Confirming the incident to KNA, the Assistant Chief of Kodumo West Sub location Nelly Atata said the deceased hails from the neighboring Kokwanyo Location.
Atata added that according to the deceased family the woman has been missing with her 14 years old son identified as Edwin Omondi Okeyo. The son is yet to be traced.
The administrator said that it’s still not clear how the death occurred and they have liaised with the sub county police officers to investigate the matter and to trace the whereabouts of the minor.
The body was taken to Rachuonyo South sub county mortuary awaiting for
postmortem.
