County Government of Laikipia extends payments date with two months

The Laikipia County Government has extended the deadline for payment of rates and charges by two months.

The move is aimed at cushioning the business community from tough economic times occasioned by Covid- 19 pandemic.

This is contained in a notice signed by Laikipia County Executive Committee Member (CECM), incharge of Finance, economic planning and County Development, Boniface Murungi Ndai.

“This is to notify all our esteemed citizens that the County Government of Laikipia has extended the payment of single Business permit and land rates which was due on 31st March 2020 to 31st May 2020,” the notice dated March 31 reads.

Ndai has encouraged the business community across the County to make their payments in installments to ensure they met the extended deadline.

The CECM has pointed out that the decision to extend the payment date was made after it was observed that Covid- 19 pandemic had already started impacting negatively on economy and thus stressed the business cash flow.
