Patients receives sanitizer donation

Two Naivasha based breweries have donated 500 liters of pure ethanol to be processed to sanitizers for use at the Naivasha sub-county referral hospital.
The gesture comes at a time when the hospital is facing an acute shortage of sanitizers due to an increase in the number of patients seeking health services.
The two breweries, Mashwa and Keroche which donated 500 liters and 50 liters of ethanol respectively, heeded to the call by the government for support to health facilities and workers to help fight the Coronavirus pandemic.
Mashwa brewery operations manager Francis Karanja pledged to support the hospital which he said was serving thousands of area residents including their workers.
He said that the current situation called for support from all quarters adding that they fully supported measures introduced by the government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 disease.
Lakeview MCA Karanja Mburu who is also the chairman of the disaster management committee in the Nakuru county assembly termed the move as God-sent adding that many health centers in the county faced challenges of sanitizers which had run out due to the high number of patients visiting the facilities.
He called for more support from other private companies in the area saying there was need to support the government efforts in combating the dreaded virus.
Meanwhile, the 25 workers from one of the leading hotels in Naivasha who had been placed on a 14-day self-quarantine have now been released after being subjected to several tests by health officers.
Some of the workers in the hotel located along Moi South Lake road came into contact with a French national on the 9th of March before he later tested positive for COVID 19.
Naivasha sub-county commissioner Mathioya Mbogo said that none of the workers exhibited any symptoms of the disease after the mandated 14 days self-quarantine.
