The curfew orders enforced by the Government have been successful in Mandera.
The Government announced curfew orders that began Friday from 7pm to 5am to curb spread of covid 19.
The country has recorded 42 corona virus positive infections with Mandera reporting no infections.
Mandera county commissioner Onesmus Kyatha told KNA that the Government was committed to curbing more infections hence the need to implement curfew orders.
Adan Hassan said curfew was not new in the region and residents have been used to going home early.
He said the curfew will help stop more infections and it was for the good of Kenyans.
The county Government has set up isolation wards in all sub county hospitals.
Screening has also been upscaled at the borders with Ethiopia and Somalia with the Government restricting movement of people across the porous borders.
