Kenya Ports Authority MD Daniel Manduku resigns

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Daniel Manduku has resigned.
Dr Manduku, who was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Authority in June 2018, tendered his resignation on Friday through a letter addressed to Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia.
The resignation takes effect from June 1 though Dr Manduku who is an Architect by profession will immediately proceed on terminal leave.
The KPA boss who has been under investigations on several corruption allegations and abuse of office did not give any reasons for his resignation.
Dr Manduku was appointed MD in June 2018 in an acting capacity after the removal of Ms Catherine Mturi-Wairi following poor performance that led to serious cargo congestion at the port of Mombasa.
He was later confirmed as KPA boss following improved performance that saw the port of Mombasa setting new records in cargo handling.
